CAMERON, Mary Elizabeth, A.R.C.T., - It is with great sadness that the family of Mary Elizabeth Cameron announces the passing of Mary on June 1, 2018 at Toronto.
Formerly of Oakville, ON, Mary was predeceased by her husband James Inglis Cameron in 1976 and her cherished eldest son Thomas McCartney Cameron (Lisa) in 2013.
Mary will be sadly missed by her surviving children James, Jeanie (Michael), Lisa (David) and David.
As well as her grandchildren Dawn, Shana, Christine (their mother Darlene) Jeremy, Matthew, Evan, James, Luke, Talulla and Colin and by her great-grandchildren Cameron, Ethan, Kennedy and Fallon.
As a classically trained singer, Mary was awarded a Diploma for her Singing… Solo Performer at the Royal Conservatory of Music of Toronto, University of Toronto in 1953. She was subsequently hired by the CBC as a script assistant and was there for the launch of CBC television. She met her husband Jim there and that is very fortunate for the above mentioned family members.
At Jim's passing she settled in at the Toronto Board of Education working for many of the staff child psychologists.
Mary will be dearly missed by her Oakville, Ontario relatives and friends; among whom she lived a large part of her long life. Her friends Elizabeth and Don Besco as well as Zina Allen will miss their bi-annual dinners with Mary and all of her friends and acquaintances grieve at Mary's passing.
Family and friends will be received at Heritage Funeral Centre, 50 Overlea Blvd. on Wednesday, June 6th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be held at CORPUS CHRISTI, 1810 Queen St. E. on Thursday, June 7th at 11 a.m. with burial to follow.
