Harris MichaelHARRIS, Michael (Mike)  -  (October 7, 1945 - February 20, 2019)  -  It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mike Harris, who was diagnosed with metastasized bladder cancer in the fall of 2018.

Mike is predeceased by his father, Donald (Don) Harris, his sister, Patricia (Patty) Harris, and his father-in-law, Edgar (Eddie) Arseneault.

Mike leaves a large circle of family and friends: his wife of 49 1/2 years, Jackie, his mother, Constance (Connie), his children Gregory (Olie Bera), Kristin (Kieran Walsh) and Katie (Ian Howard), grandsons Declan Walsh and soon-to-arrive Baby Howard, mother-in-law Gwen Arseneault, and siblings Nancy, Dan (Kathy), Irene (Warren Cox), Brian (Liz), and many nieces, nephews, and their children.

We will remember Mike best for his caustic wit, love of wordplay, and generosity of spirit. Terminally punctual, he was the person to call on if you needed your computer fixed, wanted to figure out best shortcuts to your destination, or had random questions that would unearth important information and irrelevant facts that Mike would gleefully dole out. Always loving a good puzzle, Mike spent many years researching the Harris and Arseneault family trees, finding and connecting with distant relatives around the world.

Irreverent his entire life, he refused a traditional visitation and funeral, opting instead for cremation and a private memorial for family and friends to follow.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to one of Mike's favourite charities: St. Francis Table or to your local food bank.
