Bratina GloriaBRATINA, Dr. Gloria Slavka (nee Cerar) - (1926 - 2021) - It is with thanksgiving for her life that the family of Dr. Gloria Stanislava Bratina (nee Cerar) announces her passing on July 4, 2021.

Gloria was predeceased by her beloved husband, Vojmir John Bratina; by her parents, Franc and Marija Cerar; and by her sisters and brothers Marica/Sister Maria Goretti, Franci (Marica), Ivan (Lojzka), Darinka, Charles, Bozan (Stefka), and Ana (Orrin).

She will also be treasured forever by her sisters Florence (Lojze, deceased), Antonia (Sajjad, deceased), by her brother Miro (Marilyn), her sister-in-law Frances (Charles, deceased), and by her many nieces and nephews and their families.

Gloria was a dedicated doctor, initially working at Women's College Hospital in Toronto in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, then as a family Practice physician in Toronto. She was also a physician at Dom Lipa, from its inception.

Throughout her life, Gloria was involved in many facets of the life of the Slovenian community.

The family is grateful to all the staff at Dom Lipa for the excellent care she received there as a patient over the past 15 years. In lieu of flowers, donations to Dom Lipa would be greatly appreciated.

Friends will be received at the Ridley Funeral Home (3080 Lake shore Blvd West, Etobicoke) on Wednesday, July 7, 2021 from 3:00-8:00pm. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Miraculous Medal Catholic Church (739 Brown's Line, Etobicoke) on Thursday, July 8th at 10:00am. Interment to follow at Mount Hope Cemetery.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the capacity of the funeral home or church facilities are limited. Guests wishing to attend must select a time slot by registering on the Sign Up Link on the funeral home website.
