Hayhurst ShirleyHAYHURST, Shirley Alice (MacLaren) - It is with great sadness that Shirley's family announces her passing on Sunday, July 4, 2021.

Cherished wife of the late William L. Hayhurst and mother of the late Gordon Hayhurst (Jackie).

Shirley is survived by her children, Laurie (Alan Cruess), Allie, and Dan (Michele Collins).

She was the beloved grandmother of thirteen: Gordon Cruess ( Lindsay), Stephanie Goodall ( Graeme), Susie Ammerman (Rob), Bill Cruess (Angela); Adam (Bia), Charlie and Dominique Hart, Blake and Steele Curry; and Reilly (Larri), Emily (Nic), Nicholas and Abigail Hayhurst.

Her eight great-grandchildren will miss their much adored GG.

Shirley never turned down a competitive game of Scrabble right through to her 96th birthday.  She loved her community in North Toronto, volunteering for years at the Blythwood Baptist Church Nursery School, the Sunnybrook Cancer Centre, Campbell House and the Centre for Opportunities, Respect and Empowerment.

The family is grateful to her loving and compassionate care team led by Marlyn Ubaldo.

Private funeral service at a later date.

Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated.
