Whalen LeslieWHALEN, Leslie Michael - (1938 - 2021) - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Leslie on Thursday September 9, 2021.

Leslie is now reunited in heaven with his dear parents Ruth and Arnold.

Leslie was the loving husband of Sandra of 62 wonderful and special years. He was the cherished father of David and his wife Tessie Thalassinos, Deborah Hashimoto and her husband David and Julie and her husband Blaine Dustin.

Leslie will forever be the greatest grandpa of George Kell, Victoria Kell, Laura Whalen, Kevin Whalen, Aaron Hashimoto, Hayden Hashimoto and Olivia Dustin.

Leslie was a man with many interests and passions. Most of all he loved and adored his family. Leslie was an avid 83 year old “Gamer”. He could often be found playing his favourite games such as Wreckfest, Call of Duty – Black Ops and Gran Turismo. He enjoyed puzzles especially ones with 1000 to 2000 pieces.

Leslie loved to cook and create many wonderful dishes for his family and friends to enjoy. He had a special place in his heart for dogs, especially his longtime companion Dakota.

Leslie was quite the repair man. His toolbox stacked with duct tape as it was the solution to every repair. He will forever be remembered with a chuckle for his famous sayings “Here We Go”, “Top Drawer”, Highest Ultimate”, Spiffykemo”, and Scamisfortistry.

Leslie will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all his family, friends and everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks and gratitude to the Nurses and Doctors at Brampton Civic Hospital Emergency Department and Etobicoke General Hospital ICU and Palliative Care Units. A special thanks to Nurse Laura at Etobicoke General Hospital ICU for the care and compassion she showed our family.

In keeping with Leslie's wishes, there will be no formal Funeral Service. Private Cremation has taken place. Leslie’s ashes will be laid to rest in a private service at a later date. Arrangements entrusted with Scott funeral home, Brampton.

In loving memory of Leslie, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family and can be made using the links above.
