Chan GregoryCHAN, Gregory Nigel - (January 6, 1963 - September 9, 2021) - Our beloved Gregory passed peacefully at St. Michael's Hospital with his wife, Debra, by his side.

Gregory was the second eldest of three siblings. He was born in Guyana to Valerie (Ho-A-Yun) and Percy Chan. He came to Canada in August of 1989.

Gregory worked in IT and had a long career of over 20 years at Seneca College. He sustained a brain injury in a cycling accident and could no longer continue his career. A second accident, in which his minivan was hit by another vehicle, caused more injuries. Through sheer determination and the continued efforts of his support group, he was able to maintain some sense of normalcy.

Gregory was a quiet person, studious and thoughtful, but showed hands-on talent in other areas. He did his own home renovations and car maintenance, until his injury curtailed those activities. He always tried to challenge himself by delving into new things, such as his leather artwork and guitar playing.

A loving husband to Debra, Gregory is also survived by his sister Jennifer (Sam) and brother Stanley. He was uncle to nieces Elizabeth (Kevin) and Stephanie.

Taken too soon, so unexpectedly, our hearts are deeply saddened. He will be sadly missed by his family and his many friends.

In lieu of floral tributes, donations can be made to St. Michael's Hospital or the Heart & Stroke Foundation, in Gregory's honour.

We wish to extend our gratitude to the doctors and nurses at St. Michael's for their compassionate care. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Jerrett Funeral Homes, Scarborough chapel.
