Lewis DavidLEWIS, David John   - 1945 - 2021 At home, in the presence of those who loved him dearly, David passed quietly on Thanksgiving Day.

He had lived optimistically with the rare and terminal heart disease amyloidosis for over ten years.

Left to mourn is his loving wife Lynda, his daughters Deanna Curtis, Deborah Belcourt (Marc) and his three adored grandchildren, Mitchel and Miranda Curtis, and Charlie Belcourt.

David often said that being a "Boppa" was the best role he ever had.

David was a proud graduate of CMR and RMC.

After graduation he served as an officer on the destroyer HMCS Annapolis out of Halifax.

It was here that David met Lynda and they began their 54 year journey together. Upon leaving the Navy they moved to Toronto and David began his career in the corporate world.

David was blessed to have an amazing medical team during his journey with Amyloidosis.

We cannot thank Dr. Ashok Mukherjee, Dr. Heather Ross and her research team at UHN, enough for the excellent care they gave David during this difficult time.

David was the first person in Canada to trial a new medication for this disease. While it came too late for him, it has now been approved and will give hope to others.

Cremation has taken place as well as a private service to grieve his passing.

Those wishing to make a donation in his memory may do so to Amyloidosis Research. UHN, Peter Munk Cardiac Center.
