BYRD, Joan Byrd

Peacefully at the Brockville General Hospital surrounded by family on Friday April 10, 2026. Joan Byrd (nee Lascelle) aged 86 years.  Beloved wife of the late Richard “Dick” Byrd.  Loving mother of Richard Byrd (Mindy) of Surrey BC, Robert Byrd (Shanna) of Coquitlam BC, Karen Palaisy and Miley Raas both of Brockville.  Cherished grandmother of Shorey Lea Mandel, Taylor Raas, Michael Raas, Darien Winter and Siobhan Byrd. Joan is also survived by a sister Shirley Rice as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Edmond and Eva (nee Kingsbury) Lascelle, siblings Mabel, Ramona, Josephine, Edmund, Marion, Marilyn, Donald and Leo.

At Joan’s request a Private Family Service will be held.  In memory of Joan, donations to the Shriners’ Children’s Hospital would be gratefully acknowledged by the family.  Barclay Funeral Home, 137 Pearl St. East Brockville, entrusted with arrangements.
