TRAIN, James Thomas Train

He very unexpectedly was taken home to be with Jesus his Saviour on Tuesday, April 21, 2026. Jim was a precious, faithful husband to his wife Jane of 59 years, wonderful father of Stephen (Melanie) and Kelly Shaw (J.D.). Proud poppa of his grandchildren Nicholas (Ashley), Ethan, Halle, Taylor and great granddaughter Alana. Jim is survived by his sister, Anne Law (Garry), brother Bob Train (Michele) and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents James and Edith Train, his son, Jeffrey, and sister Betty (Donald) Dabanovich. He loved them all so much. Jim worked at Cabot for many years and then took early retirement. He then had the joy of serving his precious Lord at Temple Baptist Church on staff for 21 years, through day camp, men’s ministry, children’s church and so much more. It was his passion to serve others. He did this through service at the church, coaching and mentoring the youth of Sarnia in football and baseball. Jim was an avid sports enthusiast and loved his Detroit sports teams. Later in life, he loved playing golf with his family and friends. Jim’s heart was always with his family. He loved spending time with his precious grandchildren. They brought him so much joy. His friends also played a pivotal role in his life and he cherished them all. James Thomas Train has now reached his reward in heaven. Well done! Family and friends will be received at Temple Baptist Church, 1410 Quinn Dr. Sarnia, on Monday April 27, 2026 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A memorial service will be held at Temple Baptist Church on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. Sympathy may be expressed through donations to The Greater Glass Company and their efforts to raise awareness and prevention of human trafficking in Sarnia Lambton greaterglass.ca .
