HODGSON, Dora Frances Hodgson

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother Dora Frances Hodgson at the age of 92. She is now at peace, reunited with her beloved husband David (2015) and her son Larry (1978).

Loving mother of Darlene Blunt (Doug), Steve Hodgson (Janice), Debbie O’Brien (late Mike) partner (Aldo). Cherished Nana of Darryl, Allison (Travis), Stephanie (Zach), Drew (Kristina), Niall (Lisa), Travis (Jessica), and Luke (Kaitlin) Proud Great Nana of Brayden, Ashley, Maddox, Kennedy, Sage, Avery, Emmy, Blake, Leah, Isla and Abigail. Predeceased by her brothers Bill (Doreen), Carmen (Gerry), Ben (Helena) and Henry.

Mom enjoyed gardening, knitting, bowling, and cheering on the Pittsburgh Penguins, especially Sidney Crosby. She treasured time with her family, including trips to British Columbia and Nova Scotia, camping adventures, and many cherished moments at the beautiful log cottage Dad and our family built on St. Joseph Island. In retirement, Mom and Dad enjoyed travelling and spending many winters in Florida. Her family was her greatest pride and joy, and she will be remembered for her warmth, kindness, and love of life’s simple pleasures.

The family extends sincere thanks to Dr. Smith and the wonderful staff at Extendicare Maple View for their compassionate care. A special thanks to Joel for his kindness shown to Mom.

In keeping with Mom’s wishes, a private family funeral will be held.
