HARVEY, Donald Wayne Harvey

June 24, 1947 - May 13, 2026
HARVEY, Donald Wayne Harvey

In our family he was known as Donnie, Uncle, Uncle Donnie, Mr. Donnie. and DW. But his all-time favourite was Funcle, a fun uncle, and he had the T-shirt to prove it.

Donald Wayne Harvey was the eldest child, born in Toronto, on June 24th, 1947. He was predeceased by his father Kenneth, mother Florence, brother Eric and nephew Byron Harvey. He is survived by his sister Jenni/Jane, and brother Scott and his sister-In-law’s Liz, and Georgina (Eric), his nephews, Kyle (Anna) and Aaron, his nieces Elizabeth and Kimberly. Donnie shared a special bond with Cousin Niki and was a close friend to Lori and her daughters, Adrian and Cassandra.

He is survived by his great nephews Nathan, Aiden and Sebastian, great nieces Emilea, Kaitlyn, Alannah, Gracie and a special little girl named Sophia. And his great-great nephew Lucas. Don loved sharing time with his favourite puzzle partner, Kathy. Don was a beloved first cousin to, too many to mention but they know they were loved in return.

Don was a proud member of the Keep It Simple AA group. And they are who kept him grounded for many, many years. He loved hiking, bird watching and all family functions, doing jigsaw puzzles, gardening and swimming… He especially loved hanging with his favourite people, Loni and Mike and going to lacrosse games. These simple words don’t do him justice, but these were his loves and everyone knew.

Don helped to raise his nephew Aiden who sought guidance from Uncle Donnie on a regular basis.

And in Aiden’s words. β€œI can’t believe he’s gone”.

Rest in peace our beautiful brother, uncle, cousin and friend.
