JOHNSON, Zakiyah Johnson

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Zakiyah Aaliyah Colin Johnson. Zakiyah left this world on June 25, 2026, at the tender age of 31. She was born in Toronto, Ontario, on May 10, 1995, and was a cherished daughter, sister, mother, and friend.

Zakiyah Johnson was a vibrant and spirited soul, best remembered for her fun-loving nature and bright smile. Her passions were vast and diverse, including a deep love for reading, cooking, and enjoying good food. She had an appreciation for the magic of movies and was renowned for her talent and creativity in nail design—a passion that blossomed into a small business she lovingly named Kohana Nails.

A dedicated and hardworking individual, Zakiyah was employed at SE Health and was ambitiously working towards completing her real estate license at the time of her passing. Her determination and aspiration were a testament to her strong character and dedication to building a promising future for herself and her loved ones.

Zakiyah’s greatest joy in life was her beloved daughter, Zuri, who will carry forward her mother’s indomitable spirit and warm laughter. She is also survived by her parents, Derek and Amma, Siblings Khalid, Rahim, Yasmeen, Safiyah and Grandmother Ivy.
