ROBITAILLE, Ronald Joseph Robitaille
July 11, 1941 - June 21, 2026It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ronald Joseph βRonβ Robitaille, aged 84, on June 21, 2026, at Northumberland Hills Hospital in Cobourg, Ontario. Born in Timmins, Ontario, Ron was deeply loved and cherished by all who knew him.
Ron was predeceased by his beloved wife, Margaret Geraldine βGerryβ Robitaille (nΓ©e MacDonald), with whom he shared 34 wonderful years of marriage. After nearly 25 years apart, they are now reunited.
He will be forever loved and missed by his children, Paul Robitaille (Alison) and Michelle Heighton (Murray) and by his treasured granddaughters Emma and Sophie Robitaille, He also leaves behind his partner Irma Vaughan, who brought him companionship in his later years.
He will be deeply missed by his sister Aline Delves, sisterβinβlaw Ida MacCarville (Robbie), brothersβinβlaw Everett, Ken (Lynda), Ray, Ronnie, and Allan (Sara) MacDonald, along with many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Ron was predeceased by his parents PaulβΓmile and Juliette (nΓ©e Rheault); sisters Rita Ladouceur (MoΓ―se) and ThΓ©rΓ¨se Roy (Georges); brothers Lionel (Irene), NoΓ«l, RΓ©al (Fern), and Marcel (Jackie); sisterβinβlaw Edna MacDonald; brothersβinβlaw Jack Delves, Clifford (Helen), Jimmy, and Les MacDonald, and son-in-law Darren Fraser.
A man of quiet passions, Ron loved RV travel, classic cars, classic country music, and crossword puzzles. His gentle humor and kind spirit touched everyone he met.
As per Ron’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held on August 8, 2026, from 1β3 p.m. at the Whitby Columbus Hall, 133 Brock St N, Whitby, Ontario, where family and friends are invited to share memories and honour a life well lived. Interment will take place in Prince Edward Island on August 15, 2026.
