WILLSHER, Lynda Joan Willsher

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Lynda Joan Willsher. She passed away peacefully at Innisfree House in Kitchener on July 5, 2026.

Lynda lived a beautiful life filled with purpose, laughter, and kind-heartedness. She leaves behind a family that loved her deeply: her sons Stephen Willsher and Christopher Willsher (Sonya); her cherished grandchildren Noah and Caitlyn, who learned from her kindness and smiles; and her two caring brothers, John Martell and Glenn Martell (Kim Legue) who shared many adventures with her over the years. And though she was predeceased by her beloved husband Robert “Bob” Willsher, we know he’s already putting together the most welcoming party on the other side for her arrival.

Lynda was born in Toronto and slowly moved east over the course of her life finally settling in Newcastle, where she lived for close to 50 years. She was a devoted volunteer and would often be found contributing her time to events or causes that grew the community spirit.

Her gardens were her happy place. Spring to fall, she could be found outside planting, weeding, and pruning. The dedication she showed to caring for her plants resulted in a regular summer oasis in her backyard. She would enjoy the fruits of her labour sipping a glass of wine or cup of tea on her patio surrounded by the greenery and blooms.

Reading kept her mind sharp and her heart full. A good mystery novel in hand, she would often spend winter evenings sitting in her favourite chair escaping into the latest intriguing story.

Lynda will be sadly missed. Her kindness, devotion to those she loved, and caring spirit lit the world around her and will continue to be held dearly in the memories of those she touched throughout her life.
