MCCRANEY, Helen McCraney

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of our Mother, Helen Marguerite (Sprunt) McCraney on July 27, 2026. Helen passed peacefully at Lakeview Manor, which was her home for the last 7 years. Helen was in her 96th year.

Helen was born on March 24, 1931 in Swansea, Ontario to George and Ethel Sprunt. In 1948 she married Ronald McCraney who passed in 2000. The two were married 52 years.

Helen will be sadly missed by her children, James and Rosemarie McCraney of Beaverton, Neil McCraney of Hamilton, Brian McCraney of London, Cheryl Dick of Vancouver and Donna Hughes of Cannington. Helen will also be missed by her seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Helen worked as a cashier for many years at A&P and Food City. She also sold Avon and Tupperware. She liked to sew and knit, read and bake and she loved the Blue Jays. Helen was a resident of Brock Township for 21 years. She also resided in Burlington for over 30 years.

A private family celebration of life will be held Saturday August 8th in Cannington with and internment in Burlington to follow in the fall.
