GLEISER, Judy Gleiser

Passed away peacefully at Chapman House, surrounded by family, on Friday, August 7, 2026. Born in Kitchener on November 16, 1945, Judy Ann Darlene Gleiser (nee Seip) of Owen Sound was in her 81st year.

Beloved wife of Richard Gleiser of Owen Sound. Loving mother of Matthew Gleiser (Amy) of Paris, Kristen Gleiser (Mark Bylsma) of St. George, Benjamin Gleiser (Samantha) of London, and Kati Gleiser of Owen Sound. Cherished grandma of Sierra, Olivia, Brielle, Jasmine, Grace, Hannah, Eva and Adrian. Dear sister of Georgi Seip of Halifax. Judy will also be missed by her nieces, nephews, and friends.

Predeceased by her parents Roy and Phyllis Seip, and by her sister Bonnie Jane Seip.

Judy Gleiser had many passions, including gardening, where she cultivated an extensive Hosta garden, as well as rug hooking, bowling, yoga, music, dancing, literature, cooking, preserving, baking, and volunteering at Summerfolk. She loved stargazing, searching for constellations, the Northern Lights, and shooting stars, and especially enjoyed full moons and Solstice sunrises at the cottage. Judy was a wonderful educator for many years, but above all, Judy was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who cherished time with her family.

Visitation will be held at Brian E. Wood Funeral Home, 250 14th St. W., Owen Sound, 519-376-7492, on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. A funeral service to celebrate Judy’s life will be held at St. George’s Anglican Church, 1049 4th Ave East, Owen Sound, on Thursday, August 13, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., with Rev. Mark Loyal officiating.
