VALIQUETTE, Kyle Austin Valiquette

Kyle will be remembered for his warm smile, unmistakable dimples, kind heart, and easy-going nature. He had a gentle way about him that put others at ease, along with a quick wit and sense of humor that brought laughter to family and friends. Polite, respectful, and compassionate, Kyle was someone who genuinely cared about the people around him.

Throughout his life, Kyle faced significant health challenges, living with Friedreich’s Ataxia (FA) and an associated heart condition. More recently, he courageously faced cancer and treatment-related complications. Despite these challenges, Kyle remained resilient, meeting each day with determination, grace, and a sense of humor that never left him.

Before health challenges changed the course of his life at 10 years old, Kyle was an active and fun-loving child who enjoyed all the things young boys do. He loved being spending time with friends and actively participated in activities. Even as his circumstances changed, the easy-going nature, sense of humour, and love of friendship that defined him as a child never left him.

Kyle enjoyed gaming, movies, and spending time with those closest to him. He looked forward to the newest Spider-Man release, the arrival of GTA 6, and sharing laughs with family and friends. Friendship was one of the defining constants in his life. Many of his closest friendships began in childhood and remained strong throughout the years. He was a loyal friend, a good listener, and someone others could always count on.

Kyle will be lovingly remembered by his mother, Tawnya Valiquette (Barlow); his father, Andre Valiquette (Julie Pelletier); his beloved twin brother, Ethan Valiquette; his step-siblings, Nathan and Kristin Pelletier; his aunt, Christine Lynch (Steve Lynch); his cousins, Dylan and Ashley Lynch; his uncle, Yvan Valiquette; his grandmothers, Gilberte Valiquette and Gayle Barlow; and his grandfather, Norm Barlow; in addition to many extended cousins.

Kyle is predeceased by his uncle Alain Valiquette and his grandfather Yvanhoe Valiquette. He will also be fondly remembered by his many lifelong friends and family friends, which he affectionately considered his aunts and uncles.

Kyle’s kindness, loyalty, humour, and quiet strength touched the lives of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever held in ours hearts.

A visitation will be held at Barnes Memorial Funeral Home, 5295 Thickson Road North, Whitby, on Friday, August 28, 2026, from 11:00 am until time of celebration of life at 12:00 Noon.

In memory of Kyle, donations in lieu of flowers to Ataxia Canada would be appreciated by the family.

The family extends their sincere gratitude to the medical teams at Lakeridge Health Oshawa Hospital and the Toronto General Hospital MSICU for their care and support.
