ELSON, Earl Elson
June 20, 1946 - August 11, 2026
Passed away unexpectedly at Markham Stouffville Hospital on Tuesday, August 11, 2026 at the age of 80. Remembering him with deep love is his wife of 62 years, Shirley, and his children Tracey (Warren) Strong, Pat (Brian) Kerry and Robert (Katharine) Elson. He will be greatly missed by his grandchildren Alex (Victoria), Shelby, Ben (Erin) and Charlie as well as his great grandchildren Hannah, Everett and Theo. His siblings Nelda (Wilf) Morley, Alan (Frances) Elson and Shirley Leask and many nieces and nephews will remember him fondly. Earl is predeceased by his parents Ellwood and Isola Elson and his siblings Mansel, Arnold, Lionel and Stan.
Family was at the very heart of Earl Elson’s life and nothing meant more to him than those he loved. He and Shirley built a happy, loving family. He took great pride and interest in the lives of his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He supported each one.
A lifelong car enthusiast and skilled auto mechanic, Earl worked at a variety of shops and owned and operated Elson Motors in Manilla from 1976-1981. He later spent time selling real estate in the Stouffville area, focussing on helping people with integrity and care. Earl was a man with many talents and had an incredible ability to fix almost anything. There was seldom a project he wouldn’t take on and very few problems he couldn’t figure out.
He will be remembered for his devotion to his family, his hardworking hands and his willingness to lend his skills to anyone who needed him.
