Derrick Dale Albert

August 17, 1976 – December 23, 2024

It is with profound sadness and heartbreak that we announce the passing of Derrick Dale Albert, who passed away peacefully at Lakeridge Hospital in Oshawa following a brave battle with cancer on December 23, 2024, at the age of 48. Born in Corner Brook, Newfoundland, on August 17, 1976, Derrick touched the lives of many with his love, kindness, and warmth.

Derrick is predeceased by his grandparents Arthur and Christina Vincent, and Edlow Albert; his aunts Tracy Sheppard, Elaine Park, and Cynthia Vincent; and his uncles Eric Humber and William O'Keefe.

Mourning his loss are his devoted parents, Roseanne Albert (nee Vincent) and Floyd Albert of Oshawa, ON, as well as his beloved children Daine, Marlow, and Emrey, and his grandmother Meme Albert. Derrick is also survived by his cherished aunts and uncles: Mary Humber, Ellen (Derrick) Dormody, Ruby (Bill) MacDonald, Artie (Mary) Vincent, Bonnie (Jerome) Evoy, Louise (Harold) Revells, Jim Vincent, Judy Vincent, Frank Vincent, Ted (Wanda) Vincent, Nancy Keech, Dean Sheppard (Cecilia), Rodney Park, Brenda Mae (Wade) Gavin, Steward (Susan) Albert, and Darlene (Roy) Chassion. He will be deeply missed by his many cousins, friends, and his extended circle of loved ones in Newfoundland, Prince Edward Island, and Oshawa.

Derrick loved spending time outdoors, whether fishing, hunting, camping, or enjoying the warmth of a fire with family and friends. He found joy in music, playing his guitar with his friend T.J., and attending concerts with his friend John. His kind heart, radiant smile, and unforgettable bear hugs will remain cherished by all who knew him.

Derrick’s love for his children Daine, Marlow, and Emrey was unwavering—they were his world. His legacy of love and kindness will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.

At Derrick’s request, cremation has taken place, and a private family gathering will be held at a later date. In memory of Derrick, we celebrate his incredible spirit and the unbreakable bonds he forged with all who loved him.
