Scott AllanSCOTT, Allan Ross Scott  -

May 10, 1929 — September 17, 2023

“I like to sing, I like to fly, and now I’m in the sky”- Ross Scott

Allan Ross Scott peacefully passed away at age 94 at Lakeridge Health Oshawa.

He was known as ‘Ross’ to many and ‘Scottie’ to a select few.

Ross was born in Toronto, Ontario and met his wife Joan on a blind date 69 years ago.

Their love flourished and they were married on June 26, 1954.

After graduating from the University of Toronto with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Ross accepted a job with General Motors.

He worked for over 31 years in the Engineering and Government Relations department, which allowed him to travel throughout North America and Iraq.

Ross had a passion for flying, cycling, singing, wood carving and enjoying time at the family cottage on Chandos Lake. Ross’s happy place truly was at the cottage where he loved to sail, snorkel and swim.

In his retirement, he spent over 20 years driving for the Canadian Cancer Society and spent many winters in Florida.

Ross will be remembered as a loving husband to Joan and an adoring father, grandpa and great-grandpa to his three children Anne May (Ron), Ian Scott and Susan Hermansen (Peter), his seven grandchildren Beth (Josh), Wendy, Julia (Nathan), Christopher (Kirstin), Emily, Rachel, Caroline and four great-grandchildren Aubrey, Hallie, Paige and Brinda.

Ross and Joan are very appreciative of the excellent care he received from the doctors and nurses at Lakeridge Health Oshawa as well as his family physician, Dr. Nigel Jagan.

Visitation will be held at the OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King St. West, Oshawa on Friday, September 22, 2023 from 12:00PM—2:00PM, followed by a private family service at Thornton Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Lakeridge Health Oshawa—Palliative Care or Christ Memorial Church, Oshawa.
