It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Maria (Eduarda) Pavao, who passed peacefully through the night on Sunday, April 13, 2025, at the age of 84. Maria received wonderful care from the entire staff at St. Joseph's Villa, where she was so happy to be living in her beautiful suite.
Maria was a devoted wife to her wonderful husband, Manuel, for 63 years. She was a beloved mother to Rita and Jorge Gaidola, Benny and Ivy Pavao, and Mike and Katie Pavao. A cherished grandmother to Patrick (Jade), Sara (Matt), and Aria. She is also survived by her siblings Eduardo and Ilda Alves, Nick and Maria Alves, and Alzira and Frank Medeiros, along with many friends and family both in Canada and Portugal.
Visitation will take place at Friscolanti Funeral Chapel, 43 Barton Street East (near James), on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, from 1pm-4pm and 5pm-8pm. A Funeral Service will be celebrated in the Friscolanti Funeral Chapel on Thursday, April 17, 2025, at 10 a.m., with entombment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Our Lady of Victory Mausoleum, in Burlington, ON.
