Douglas Anderson
1937 - 2025
Doug Anderson of Bobcaygeon passed away at Ross Memorial Hospital on February 15, 2025, at the age of 87. Doug was the beloved husband of Joyce (née Grant) for 64 years. Dear father of Kim (Frank) Forrest and Mark (Kelly) Anderson. Devoted grandfather of Mitchell (Marissa), Olivia (Brett), Jack, William, Theodore, and Kate.
Doug is survived by sisters Lois Lewis and Marie Brooks. Predeceased by siblings Ruby, Jean, Ila, Carl, Bernice, Norma, Alma, Helen, and Murray. He will be dearly missed by many nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.
Doug was born on the family farm on Anderson Line in Bobcaygeon. He had many passions in life, from his family and friends to his farm, his horses, music, carpentry & woodworking, and his faith in God. He enjoyed serving the local community in various ways, including local minor hockey, the agricultural society, and donating his carpentry prowess at Settlers’ Village. He was a lifelong member of Knox Presbyterian Church and especially enjoyed his role as elder and singing in the church choir.
Doug was a Freemason at Verulam Lodge #268 for the past 42 years and relished the fellowship and high moral principles of the craft. He was all about “hard work” and expected nothing less from those around him. His strong character, honest and straightforward style, and his sincere concern for the well-being of others will be greatly missed – and forever remembered.
