ANDREWS, Glenn Douglas (Pup) Andrews -
Ending his long journey with cancer on May 29, 2024, Glenn passed away peacefully in his sleep, surrounded by family. Glenn was predeceased by his parents, Bill and Ruth Andrews of Whitby and his beloved dog Sparky.
He will be greatly missed by his loving wife and best friend, Susan, his children Grace and Chris (Jen), his dog/partner-in-crime Jasper, his grandchildren Griffin and Jakob, his brothers Dave (Heather) and Allan (Terry), his many nieces and nephews as well as best friends Paul Keys, Rob Lovelock, Steve Reeson and so many others.
For the compassionate and excellent care given to Glenn, the family wishes to acknowledge and thank Dr. Andree Line Hollander (Bowmanville), Dr. Sylvia Ng (Sunnybrook Odette Cancer Centre), as well as the staff and volunteers at Oak Ridges Hospice of Durham.
Spending time with friends and family (or by himself) around the campfire at The Bus or at the lake; driving his '67 convertible Mustang in the sun; Mosport camping with the PSOD crew; Monday night darts with Pup's Team in the Newcastle Dart League; playing defense on the Hunter's Horn hockey team in Whitby and the INX team in the Oshawa Men's Hockey League -- Glenn loved being with people, being active and enjoying whatever life brought his way. His greatest gift was forming lasting friendships. He left a piece of his heart in every person he met; in doing so, he will be greatly missed and always with us.
Arrangements with MOUNT LAWN FUNERAL HOME . A Celebration of Life will be held at St. Mark's United Church, 201 Centre St. S., Whitby, Ontario on June 27th at 1:00 p.m. followed by a fellowship gathering at the church. Private graveside interment at MOUNT LAWN CEMETERY (Whitby) will follow at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Oak Ridges Hospice of Durham or the Sunnybrook Odette Cancer Centre.
In addition, the family would love to receive any photographs of Glenn as well as any special anecdotes or memories that could be privately shared.
