Albin Anetter
December 17, 1931 - December 31, 2024
Albin Anetter, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully at the age of 93 on December 31, 2024, after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease.
Albin was born in Austria in 1931 to Maria Waluschnig and Karl Anetter, the youngest of three boys. He was predeceased by his son, Danny, and grandson, Chase, and leaves behind his devoted wife of 70 years, Frances; his daughters Christine (Richard) and Doris (Bill); and his cherished grandchildren Brittany (Jeff), Katie, Ellie (Ty), and Brent (Andrea), as well as his great-grandchildren Ella, Jake, and Annika.
Albin and Frances worked in Switzerland for four years before marrying and immigrating to Montreal in 1954. There, Albin quickly established himself as a talented cabinet maker, creating beautiful furniture that became his signature. With Frances by his side, handling the paperwork, managing materials, deliveries, and raising their children, Albin worked tirelessly to build a successful woodworking business, ensuring his family was well cared for.
Having lived through a war-torn Austria, it became so important to him to be a good provider. Albin was a shrewd businessman who knew the value of a dollar and passed on the importance of hard work and determination to everyone around him.
Outside of work, Albin lived life to the fullest, always making time for family, fun, and adventure. He built a beautiful cottage on the shores of Lac Blanc in the Quebec Laurentians, where he spent many joyful hours skiing, swimming, water skiing, reading, hunting, picking berries, and foraging chanterelle mushrooms. This cottage became a beloved gathering place for family and friends, creating countless happy memories for all who visited.
After 25 years in Quebec, Albin and Frances moved to Ontario to give their son Danny a better life. Albin was a fierce advocate for Danny, believing that every child deserved to live in the comfort and security of their family home. He worked tirelessly to break barriers for individuals removed from group homes, ensuring that Danny could come home and thrive. His unwavering belief in the power of family and love was evident in everything he did.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Elisa, Henrietta, William, and Sonia for their kind and compassionate care.
