BIA, Ann - It is with great sadness that we announce Boyana Ann Bia's death on November 20, 2023.
Ann suffered debilitating injuries in a nearly fatal car crash on May 29th.
After heroic fight for six months, Ann decided that the life with her disabilities was not worth living and chose to end it assisted by the medical services (MAID).
Ann lived a full and rich life and unselfishly enriched the lives of family and those of her friends.
Uncompromising in her ethical standards, a firm believer in fairness and social justice and compassionate with friends and students, Ann was respected and loved by friends, fellow teachers and family members.
She loved travels, social events with friends and took great pride in gardening and domestic affairs.
She will be missed by husband Velimir, brother George, and many of her dear friends.
A memorial service celebrating her life will be arranged in near future.
