It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Hanna Rydel Szylinger, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Hanna led a long life, full of steadfast wisdom and guidance for all around her. Enduring the trials of WWII as a child in Poland and then in Russia, she succeeded in building a life in Israel, and later Montreal as a scientist, first as a pharmacist and then as a researcher while raising her two daughters, Irene and Debbie alongside her beloved husband, Yanek (Jacob) z"l.
She is survived by her sister, Hadassa Cigel of Israel; and her cousin, Hanka Hornstein of Montreal. Hanna was a loving mother and mother-in- law to Irene and Peter (Kellner) z"l, and Debbie (Fischer) and Howard (Wetston); adored grandmother (Dupty) of Jenna (Yossi) and Becca (Zach); and an amazing great- grandmother to Gabi, Belle, and Parker.
After a private funeral service, shiva will be held at 4 Lowther Avenue, 2nd floor, on Wednesday November 22nd from 7-9 p.m. and Thursday, November 23rd, in the afternoon from 2-4 p.m. and in the evening from 7-9 p.m., with services at 7:30 p.m.
