With heavy hearts, the family of Robert William (Bob) Armit announce his peaceful passing on Sunday, December 15, 2024, at Bethammi Nursing Home in Thunder Bay, ON.
Bob was born on December 31, 1938, in Fort Frances, ON, to Cecilia (Calder) and Charles Armit. From a young age, Bob demonstrated remarkable resilience and determination, working tirelessly to help support his family after the loss of his father. Over the years, Bob built a life defined by hard work, love, and a commitment to others.
On October 19, 1957, Bob married his high school sweetheart, Erma Raiche. Together, they built a family filled with love, raising four children and sharing many adventures. Bob’s career spanned 28 years at the local paper mill before he found a second calling as a chartered financial planner with Investors Group.
Bob is survived by his wife of 67 years, Erma; his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many extended family members, as well as exchange students who became part of his family. He is predeceased by his parents, siblings, and many dear friends.
A celebration of Bob’s life will be held in the summer of 2025 in Fort Frances. Memorial donations can be made to the Fort Frances Senior Centre or St. Joseph’s Foundation of Thunder Bay.
