Michael Paul Aylward

Michael Paul Aylward, 59, formerly of Alberton, PEI, passed away suddenly in his home in Toronto, Ontario, on Sunday, November 17, 2024. Michael was predeceased by his father, Fred Aylward, his loving mother Dorothy (née McKenna) Aylward, and his brother-in-law, Dwayne Ellsworth.
He is survived by his sister, Cathy Aylward, nephews Zach (Hadeel Haddad) and Eli (Destinie Graham) MacCarthy, great-nephew Kai, and many friends and family members.
Born in Arcadia, California, on October 25, 1965, Michael graduated from Westisle Composite High School before attending the University of New Brunswick for Forest Engineering. His career took him from land surveying in Toronto to working in Alberta as an oilfield technician. He later returned to Toronto in 1995, dedicating 29 years to working as a support worker in a group home.
Michael was passionate about photography, often exploring relationships through the lens of his Canon. His loss is deeply felt by his artistic community and loved ones. Known for his kindness, generosity, and brilliant sense of humor, Michael was a gentle soul with a huge heart.
A celebration of life for Michael will be held on Prince Edward Island, with a date and location to be announced.
