William Babinetz

August 25, 1942 – December 13, 2024

It is with broken hearts and profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Bill Babinetz after an enjoyable evening of watching the Brantford Bulldogs with his son-in-law Dave.

Bill is survived by his wife of 59 years, Donna; his daughter Kim, son-in-law Dave, and cherished granddaughters Kaitlyn (Ryan) and Rachel (James). He will also be missed by his daughter Tammy, son Roger, and his special furry friend, Christie. Bill leaves behind many loving family members, friends, and neighbors who will miss him dearly.

Bill enjoyed a hardworking career of over 40 years as a plant manager at Sternsons. He also supported his wife’s successful janitorial business. A dedicated and proud family man, Bill loved spending time with his granddaughters, whether babysitting, carpooling, or taking them to his trailer in Port Rowan.

Bill lived an active life and had a lifelong love of sports. In his youth, he played baseball, hockey, darts, and pool. Known for his competitive spirit, he was an enthusiastic euchre player and a member of the Friendship Bowling League. He loved reading, discussing current events, and spending time outdoors doing yard work or putting up Christmas lights.

Known for his sense of humor, kindness, and whistling tunes, Bill brought joy to all who knew him. He was a great husband, father, papa, friend, and neighbor who always lent a helping hand. His determination to overcome challenges in recent years is an inspiration to us all.

Celebration of Life: Friends and family are welcome to attend a Celebration of Life on Saturday, December 21, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Beckett Glaves Funeral Home, 88 Brant Avenue, Brantford, Ontario. Cremation has taken place.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Brant County SPCA in Bill’s memory would be greatly appreciated.

Memories and notes of condolence may be shared at Beckett Glaves Funeral Home.
