Anna Marie Baker

February 25, 2025

Beloved Anna Marie Baker (O’Neil) passed peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Tuesday, February 25, 2025. Anna was born in Chatham Head, New Brunswick, to William (Bill) and Alvretta O’Neil. Full of life since day one, Anna was raised alongside siblings Alison (Eileen), Katherine (Lloyd), Hilton (Cecelia), Barb (Gerald), Marguerite (Walter), Billie, and Jack (Victoria).

Anna went on to create her own loving family with the late, great Gordon Baker. Together, they raised their children, David (Patricia) and Leanne. Anna’s greatest joy was her grandchildren Christina (Andrew), Jessica, Eric (Cassidy), Patrick (Jamie), and Zackery, with her most favourite of all being her great-granddaughter, Abby.

Anna was a long-time secretary with the DCDSB, keeping many students (and teachers) in line with her spirited daily announcements. Her home was a safe space for her many nieces, nephews, friends, and extended family, where there was always a hot pot of tea, a grilled cheese, and maybe a chocolate bar (if she liked you) to enjoy.

The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the team members at Lakeridge Health Oshawa, with special appreciation to the Comfort Care team for their guidance and support.
