Moore BarbaraMOORE, Barbara Jane (nee McVICAR)  -  Jane Moore died on November 9, 2023 at 79 years of age.

Jane was a Torontonian all her life.

She was pre-deceased by her parents George and Dorothy McVicar. She is survived by her husband, Robert (Bob) Moore, her daughters Fiona and Bronwen (David) Moore, her much loved grandchildren Caleb and Lily, her sisters Rosemary McVicar, niece Kim and Sylvia McVicar (Wolfgang) and nephew David.

Jane was the first Speech and Language Pathologist at Sunnybrook Hospital. When her family became her priority, Jane worked freelance at North York General, Bridgepoint and Bloorview Hospitals. She then became one of the first Speech and Language Pathologists for the East York Board of Education, and, after amalgamation, for the Toronto District School Board of Education where she worked until her retirement.

Jane volunteered with Patient Partners for Arthritis and the School Board. Jane met Bob Moore at Sunnybrook and they were married for fifty-two years. It was an adventurous and happy union.

Jane's daughters, Fiona and Bronwen, are both distinguished in their careers, a credit to their mother's nurturing.

Jane was a very dedicated grandmother to Lily and Caleb.

A private family burial has occurred. There will be a celebration of Jane's life in December.

If people so wish a donation can be made in her honour to the Nature Conservancy of Canada, Project Ploughshares or the Arthritis Society.
