Lena Barone

1938 – 2024

It is with broken hearts we announce the unexpected passing of Lena, at the Sault Area Hospital on Monday, December 23, 2024, at the age of 86. Beloved wife of Antonio for 67 years. Adored mother of Marlene Waud and Frank Barone (Candace). Proud Nana of Lauren Milliken (Craig), Ryan Waud (Nathanielle), Sarah Barone (Dustin), and Anthony Barone. Great Nana of Dean, Sam, Koa, and Rio.

Predeceased by her parents Emelia and Sam Sicoly. Special sister of Gloria Meraglia (James). Cherished Aunt of Linda Quevillon, Wendy Meraglia, and Janine Meraglia. Lena will be deeply missed by her many special friends and extended family. Her memory will forever be cherished, and her influence will continue to inspire us as we gather around the table, just as she taught us to do.

She will be greatly missed by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, with whom she took immense pride in watching grow. She cherished every milestone, every moment of laughter, and every opportunity to share in their lives.

Friends and family are invited to visit at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Road, 705-945-7758) on Monday, December 30th, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. A Funeral Mass will follow at St. Gregory's Church at 12 Noon with Father Trevor Scarfone officiating.

Memorial donations to the Sault Area Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family. A special thank you to the Sault Area Hospital Emergency Department for making her transition comfortable and peaceful.
