PROUT, Barry Leonard - It is with the greatest sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, papa and friend, Barry Leonard Prout.
Born July 22, 1944 in Toronto, Ontario, died in the embrace of his family, of respiratory failure, December 24, 2020 in Port Perry.
Son of Leonard William Prout and Doris Mary (Mahaffy) Prout predeceased; husband of 50 years of Johanna Connie (Vanden Enden) Prout; loving father of Barry John Prout (Jacqueline-Anne), Gavin Leonard Prout, Johanna Nicole Prout (Sam); doting papa to Avery Grace, Aidan James, and Ashton Barry John, brother of Keith (predeceased in March of 2020) (Nicole), Elaine Kimmel (Ron), and to an extended family of Vanden Endens, loyal friend to many.
Gratitude is extended to his caregivers during his final difficult days, Dr. Rebecca Wray, palliative care nurses Rose and Shannon, and the gentle Bill who kept him comfortable.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions private arrangements were made. A celebration of life (Barry style) will take place once it is safe to do so.
In lieu of flowers, consider planting a tree or making a memorial donation to the Oak Ridges Hospice of Durham.
