Lyall “Flash” Barton

1949 - November 12, 2024

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Lyall “Flash” Barton of Vankleek Hill on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, at the age of 75, at the Ottawa General Hospital. Lyall was predeceased by his parents, John M. and Edna Barton (née McRae).

Lyall was the beloved husband of Judy (née McLeod) and a loving father to Shane and Candice (Yannick Desjardins). He was a proud grandpa to Logan and Edith. Lyall will be dearly missed by his siblings Irvine (Marion), the late Rae (Sue), Nancy (Thomas McDonald), and Sharon (Lee Hall), as well as his many nieces and nephews.

A passionate reader, Lyall enjoyed novels by Nora Roberts and J.D. Robb. He was also a devoted fan of the Montreal Canadiens, cheering them on with unwavering loyalty.

Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Lyall’s Life on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Vankleek Hill Curling Club, 136 Bond Street, Vankleek Hill.

In memory of Lyall, donations to CHEO – Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario would be greatly appreciated by the family. A Tree of Remembrance will also be planted in his honor at the McAlpine Forever Forest in Vankleek Hill.
