Evelyn Beverley Beckman

1943 – 2024

With broken hearts, we announce the sudden passing of Evelyn Beverley Beckman (nee Johnston) on Saturday, December 14, 2024, in her 82nd year at St. Catharines General Hospital, surrounded by the love of her family and close friends. Evelyn married her high school sweetheart Allan in 1965, and during their 59 years of marriage, became a cherished mom to David (predeceased), Michael (Cheri), and Tammy (John), and a loving Nana to Jesy, Kyler, and Ethan, as well as ‘Nana Banana’ to Makenna and Hudson. Her family was her world.

Evelyn also leaves behind many extended family, friends, and neighbors who held a very special place in her heart. During her 52 years of employment at TD Bank, she made lifelong friendships, working as a bank teller and greeting every customer with a warm, friendly smile. Evelyn’s generosity knew no bounds. She was a social butterfly who built meaningful relationships with everyone she met.

Her radiant smile lit up every room she entered. Evelyn loved baking her famous pies, ‘hello dollies,’ and butter tarts in her kitchen, as well as crafting, shopping, decorating homes, gardening, and traveling to the Dominican. Summers at her second home, Newtons Cottages, were spent making cherished memories with dear friends and family. Al fondly described her as an amazing woman who could truly do it all.

Visitation for Evelyn will be held at George Darte Funeral Home, 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines, on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. At Evelyn’s request, cremation has already taken place.
