Russell Albert Bell

August 15, 1928 – November 25, 2024

With heavy hearts, the family of Russell Albert Bell announces his peaceful passing on November 25, 2024, at the age of 96, at Humber River Hospital. Born on August 15, 1928, in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, Russell was a devoted father, loving partner, and a cherished grandfather.

Russell is survived by his sons Donald (Jacqueline) and Christopher (Jessica), and his grandsons Travis and Wolfgang. He was predeceased by his daughter Rosalind (Lenny), grandson Jeffrey, granddaughter Taylor, the mother of his children Donna, and his beloved partner Nancy. A guiding figure and friend to many, Russ was known for his humor, kindness, and zest for life.

After moving to Toronto at the age of 17, Russell embarked on a 45-year career at Stauffer Chemical Company, rising to a supervisory role. In retirement, he shared joyful years with Nancy, raising their rescue poodle, Gemma. Russ loved nature, the music of Gordon Lightfoot, and sharing meals with his family, especially enjoying Chinese food and apple pie.

The family extends their gratitude to the compassionate staff at Humber Heights and Humber River Hospital for their dedicated care. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Wilfred Schlegel Hope Fund are appreciated (donate here).
