BLACKSTONE, Bernice - With sadness, we announce the death of Bernice Phyllis Blackstone (nee Eisen) on December 28, 2023.
Bernice was born in Toronto on May 13, 1940, and was predeceased by her parents, David and Rachel Eisen.
Bernice will be painfully missed by her husband of 54 years, Ian Blackstone; her sons, Mark (Emily Reed) and Simon Blackstone; her grandchildren, Sophia and Eli Reed-Blackstone and Rachel Blackstone, as well as her sister, Charna Yasny (Bob Yasny); and her nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
Bernice instinctively aided and assisted all those around her for the entirety of her life.
She will be greatly missed by the friends and family to whom she was devoted and whose lives she enriched with her love, thoughtfulness, generosity and sharp mind.
Family and friends will be gathering to remember Bernice on December 30, 2023 in her home, 39 Old Mill Road, Apt. 2003, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. All are welcome.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that contributions be made to Medecins Sans Frontieres, Doctors Without Borders and/or Sistering.
