Samuel Leslie Bethel
1947 - 2024

It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of our beloved father, Samuel Bethel, who left us on October 22, 2024, at the age of 77.

Sam was born in Ireland and came to Canada in 1967. He married Helen in 1974, and they recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Sam worked at Stelco for 40 years, spending his final years as a proud crane operator before retirement.

Sam leaves behind his beloved wife, Helen (Bennett), his daughters Johanna (Adam) and Andrea (Chris), and his cherished grandchildren, Brielle, Nathan, Xavier, and Tristan. He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Sarah Bethel, and his siblings Dora Gillanders (Eric), Geordie Bethel, Betty McKee, Billy Bethel, and Eva Bethel. He is survived by his siblings Jimmy Bethel and Sadie Breaden (John), as well as many other dear family members and friends.

Visitation will be held at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek, on Monday, October 28, 2024, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., followed by a Funeral Service at 12 p.m. in the Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will take place at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Stoney Creek.
