Mary Borovsky (née Howes)

Tuesday, March 4, 2025

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Mary Borovsky, in her 91st year, who left this world peacefully on March 4, 2025.

Mary’s warmth, strength, and unwavering kindness touched the lives of all who knew her. A beloved mother, grandmother, and wife, Mary’s legacy is one of love, compassion, and resilience. Her gentle spirit, caring nature, and sense of humor made every gathering brighter. As a trained nurse, Mary’s life was defined by her devotion to family, her passion for nurturing those around her, and her quiet strength in the face of life’s challenges.

She will be dearly missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her. She is survived by her husband John, children Kevin (Fran) and Maureen (James), and four grandchildren: Matthew, Liesl, Jennifer, and Melissa.

Mary’s family wishes to thank the staff at Hillsdale Terraces for the excellent care and support they provided during her stay.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 13, 2025, at Armstrong Funeral Home (124 King St. E., Oshawa) from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and again from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass to honour Mary’s life will take place at St. Joseph the Worker Parish on Friday, March 14, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. Interment to follow at St. Wolodymyr & St. Olha Cemetery, Courtice.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Mary’s memory to the Alzheimer Society of Canada.

Online condolences may be shared at Armstrong Funeral Home.
