Mary Marguerite Brinkman
December 22, 1934 – April 6, 2025
Peacefully on Sunday, April 6, 2025, Mary Marguerite Brinkman (née Wilson) passed away at the Oak Ridges Hospice in Port Perry, in her 90th year.
Predeceased by her beloved husband, Robert James Brinkman. Devoted mother to Gina Boyd (Bob), Charles Brinkman, Judy MacLeod (John), and Gloria Sherwood (Ed). Cherished grandmother to Katherine, Devin, and Tristan, and step-grandmother to Cameron, Brooke, and Hayley. Dear sister to Glen Wilson, and predeceased by siblings Jean Stroud and Clem Wilson.
Mary was born on December 22, 1934, in Port Perry to Charles and Laura Wilson. She was a very active and lifelong member of the Port Perry United Church and dedicated much of her time volunteering with numerous organizations in the community. Mary had a long and impactful career as a nurse at Port Perry Hospital (Lakeridge Health), where she helped deliver several generations of babies.
A loving mom, grandmother, sister, special aunt, neighbor, and friend to many, Mary will always be remembered for her big heart and warm smile. Her legacy of care and kindness lives on through the many lives she touched.
The family of Mary Brinkman will receive friends at the Wagg Funeral Home, 216 Queen Street, Port Perry, on Friday, April 11th from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Additional visitation will be held on Saturday, April 12th from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m., followed by a service to celebrate her life at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel.
If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
