PATERSON, Bruce Richard Paterson   -  Passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 5th at the age of 57 at Peterborough Regional Health Centre (PRHC) with his beloved wife Karen (Kennedy / Morrow) by his side.

His family would like to acknowledge the urgent response and support of the Port Hope EMS teams, the interventions and palliative care provided by the cardiology and ICU teams at PRHC, and the incredible coordination of all those involved in the Trillium Gift of Life to facilitate Bruce’s final wishes.

Bruce will be greatly missed by his children, Zachery, Mikaela, and Aaron, along with his stepsons Connor Morrow (Anne-Marie Voyer) and Graydon Morrow (Breanne Douse).

He was a wonderful brother to John (Linda Paterson), Darren (Sherry Rodd), and Shannon (Brad Friesen) and a loving uncle to Kassandra, Brianna, Cameron, and Audrey. He is predeceased by his parents Bruce and Gwenyth Paterson.

Bruce was born on March 16th, 1966 and grew up in Markham, ON, before moving to Uxbridge and then Port Hope.

As a Professional Fire Fighter with the City of Brampton Fire and Emergency Services, he dedicated his life to saving others, and in his final act of kindness, donated his organs through the Trillium Gift of Life in the hope that he could help others in need.

The visitation will be held on Friday March 15th from 2:00 to 4:00pm and 6:00 to 8:00pm at Low & Low Funeral Home, Uxbridge, ON. The funeral service will be on Bruce’s birthday, Saturday March 16th, at 11:00am at St. Paul’s Anglican Church – 59 Toronto St. South, Uxbridge, ON with a reception to follow at Wooden Sticks Golf Club – 40 Elgin Park Dr, Uxbridge ON.

Bruce was young at heart and a favourite with all the kids who remember him as Uncle Bruce (“Grandpa” for some).

In support of the youth he so fondly mentored, we ask that in lieu of flowers, any donations be directed to The Tony Osborne Memorial Youth Cycling Fund.
