Eliana Bruni
November 21, 1946 – November 25, 2024
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Eliana Bruni (née Voros) on November 25, 2024, at the age of 78. Born in Ethiopia to a Greek family on November 21, 1946, Eliana lived a life full of grace, resilience, and trust in the beauty of “whatever will be.” She shared her journey with her twin sister Mary, forming an unbreakable bond that was the foundation of a lifelong duet of love and laughter.
Eliana’s path led her to marriage with Cisco Bruni, an Ethiopian-born Italian, and together they built a family rooted in unconditional love. When civil war disrupted their lives, Eliana courageously led her family to Canada, where they started anew, demonstrating her strength and determination.
A devoted mother to Letizia (Dave) and Piero (Brenda), and a loving grandmother to Matthew (Danielle), Cisco (Marlee), Ryersen, and Quinton, Eliana found her greatest joy in her family. She was “Aya” to her grandchildren, whose lives she enriched with endless love and wisdom. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, resilience, and selflessness.
Eliana’s life was a song that embodied the wisdom of her favorite refrain, “Que sera, sera—whatever will be, will be.” Her strength remained unwavering even in her final years as she faced the challenges of a stroke and dementia with grace, supported daily by her devoted twin sister.
Eliana is survived by her twin sister Mary (Franz), brother Mike (Judy), her children, grandchildren, great-grandson Holden, and her anticipated great-granddaughter. She has been reunited with her beloved husband Cisco, her parents Anna and Eftimios, and her sister Helen (Bruno).
As we say goodbye, we hold her melody in our hearts, forever grateful for the joy and love she brought into our lives. May she rest in peace, her life a beautiful tune that will never fade.
