Ruth died peacefully in hospital on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, at the age of 104 years. Predeceased by brothers and sisters Charles Brunton (Elaine), Gerald Brunton (Mabel), Arthur Brunton (Edith), Harold Brunton (Margaret), Edna Hume (William), and Alice Simmonds (Arthur). Predeceased by her parents Ida May (Graham) and Robert Alexander Brunton. Special Aunt to many nieces, nephews, and grand-nieces and nephews.
Ruth grew up on a farm in Marvelville, worked for several years in the federal government at the Rideau Veterans Home, and upon retirement, volunteered at the Glebe Centre until she was in her 80’s. She lived in the Canterbury Apartments for over 40 years and spent her last 4 years at the Stillwater Creek Retirement Home in Nepean.
Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside service on Thursday, October 24, 2024, at 11:00 am at the Springhill Cemetery, 7832 Bank St. In memory of Ruth, donations to the Springhill Cemetery or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
