Rory Allen Brush
February 4, 1957 - November 14, 2024
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Rory Allen Brush of Courtice, Ontario, whose presence will be deeply missed. Rory departed unexpectedly on November 14, 2024. Born in Essex, Ontario to his adoring parents, Rudolph (Randy) and Hazel Brush, he was the eldest of six children.
Rory is survived by his loving wife, Marianne Miller, and his cherished children, Courtney (Matt), Jeremy (Natalie), Jamie (Tamanna), and Kyle. He was a proud grandfather to Dayna, Lilith, Ellora, and Jordan, and is predeceased by Anneke and Rayne. Rory also leaves behind his siblings, Randy (Cheryl), Cary (Carrie), Shari (John), Darryl (Cathy), and Shawn (Denise), along with numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, friends, and clients who loved him dearly.
Rory moved from Essex to Toronto to attend college and embark on an outstanding financial career. In Toronto, he formed a lifelong friendship with Karen, the mother of his two eldest children, as they navigated the challenges of young adulthood together. Later, Rory found profound love with Marianne, the mother of his two youngest children, creating a family bond filled with love, respect, and shared joy.
Known as a gentle giant, Rory was a charismatic man who never hesitated to help those he loved. His devotion to family was unwavering, whether indulging his grandchildren with treats or supporting his children in every way possible. Rory's 40-year financial career was marked by a tireless work ethic and a commitment to helping others achieve their dreams, often over a coffee and a slice of Marianne’s famous coffee cake.
Rory's cowboy boots and hat were a reflection of his country roots, and he often found solace on his front porch. His presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in quiet moments of reflection and the cherished memories of those who knew him.
We pray for Rory’s peaceful journey as he finds his way back home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Canadian Diabetes Foundation or Autism Canada.
Memories and notes of condolence may be shared at Courtice Funeral Chapel.
