Man in uniform standing confidently.

Daniel John Burg

February 26, 1980 – March 17, 2025

Dan Burg lived his best life every single day—full throttle, 5th gear pinned. A man of big dreams, boundless energy, and a fearless drive to chase every adventure, Dan’s larger-than-life personality and big heart made him unforgettable to everyone privileged to know him.

Passionate about motorcycles, snowmobiles, and boating, Dan was a skilled rider and a proud leader of every pack he joined. His fleet was a source of pride and envy alike. Known as "Turbo Burgo" and, more recently, "DaniMAL" during a bucket-list motorcycle trip through the Alps, Dan lived for speed, freedom, and the thrill of the ride.

A loving husband to Michelle, his biggest fan for over 22 years, and proud father to Danica, Dan’s love for his family was fierce and unwavering. His smile lit up every room, and his booming voice echoed with kindness and laughter.

Dan dedicated nearly five years to his community as a volunteer firefighter with Township of Scugog Station 62 and served as Secretary of the Caesarea Firefighters Association. He also found joy in music through his band, Red Cup County, uniting people with rhythm and heart.

As a Health and Safety expert at Elexicon Energy, Dan's professional passion was ensuring the wellbeing of others—a reflection of his core nature. He will be remembered for his energy, loyalty, work ethic, and ability to make every moment count.

Dan is survived by his wife Michelle and daughter Danica; sister Melanie Walls (Jamie Sharples), nieces and nephews Ryan, James, Taylor, and Julia; brother Johnathan Burg (Dania Shewchuk); mother-in-law Marianne Bowden; brothers-in-law Jonathon and Nicolas Doucett, and niece Isabella. He was predeceased by his beloved parents, Sandra (Lewis) and Wytze (John) Burg. Dan also leaves behind a large extended family, many dear friends, colleagues, bandmates, and his entire community.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Low & Low Funeral Home – Port Perry Chapel, 1763 Reach Street, Port Perry.

A funeral service will take place on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at 2:26 p.m. at Low & Low Funeral Home – Port Perry Chapel. Interment will follow at Thornton Cemetery, 1200 Thornton Road North, Oshawa, ON.

A reception will be held at The Brock House, 918 Brock Street North, Whitby, ON.

Guests are encouraged to wear navy in honour of Scugog Fire and Fire Services.

In Dan’s honour, donations can be made to the Caesarea Firefighters Association, Operation Scugog, or Big Brothers Big Sisters North Durham.
