Sharon Glenys Byers

1946 - 2024

Sharon Glenys Byers passed away peacefully at Southlake Regional Hospital on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at the age of 78, with her daughter by her side.

Sharon had a lifelong love of books and was an avid reader. She enjoyed a variety of crafts, including sewing, needlepoint, and folk art. Sharon’s love for animals was ever-present, with cats, dogs, or both often part of her household. Her fondness for horses led her to horseback riding as a teenager. Sharon also enjoyed music, particularly pop and country, and shared many motorcycle adventures with her late husband, Dave, letting the open road guide them.

Sharon is survived by her daughter Tammy (Gary); brother Kerry Fuller (Suzanne); sister Cheryl Munroe (Vaughn); her grandchildren Tyler and Megan Thomson, and her adored great-grandson Thomas. She also leaves behind her niece Andrea and nephews Darcy, Kelsey, and Graham. Sharon will be deeply missed by her extended family and friends.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to Sharon Corners Retirement Residence for their excellent care and to the nurses and physicians at Southlake Regional Health Centre in Newmarket for their compassion and care during her short stay in emergency and on the Cardiac Vascular (CVS) floor.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to Southlake Regional Health Centre or the Ontario SPCA in Sharon’s memory.

A private family celebration of life will be held next year.
