William "Jim" James Calder
October 12, 1947 – December 11, 2024
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of William James Calder, affectionately known as Jim, of Oshawa, on December 11, 2024, at the age of 77.
Born on October 12, 1947, Jim was a lifelong sports enthusiast with a deep passion for hockey and baseball. In his youth, he played Junior B level hockey as well as baseball and softball for many years, showcasing his athletic talent and love of the game.
Jim was a car hauler for over 35 years, taking great pride in his impeccable, accident-free career—a true testament to his skill and dedication.
He was a loving father to Shawn, Trina, Justin, Blair, and Brian, and a cherished brother to Dianne. Generous and loyal, Jim was deeply devoted to his family and friends both here and in Cuba, where he created countless treasured memories during his annual trips with close friends.
In accordance with Jim’s wishes, there will be no formal service. A private celebration of life will be held with immediate family in the new year.
Jim will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him. Rest in peace, Jim.
