Isobel Hastie Campbell (Gallagher)

June 8, 1945 - February 24, 2025

Isobel Campbell, of Whitby, Ontario, passed away peacefully on February 24, 2025, at the age of 79. Born on June 8, 1945, at Barshaw Hospital in Paisley, Scotland, she lived a life filled with love, adventure, and deep family connections.

Born a twin to Charles and Anne Gallagher (Charlie and Nan), just moments after her loving twin sister Margaret, Isobel was surrounded by family from the very start. The Gallagher family expanded with the arrival of her brother Jim and sister Anne. She later met her beloved husband, Ian, and together they built a beautiful life with their sons, Ian and Craig, and daughter, Leanne.

In the early 1970s, Isobel and Ian made the courageous decision to move their family from Scotland to Canada. Their journey took them first to New Brunswick and then to the Oshawa/Whitby area, where they reunited with her twin sister Margaret and her family. Isobel dedicated many years of service to Oshawa General Hospital and Pinewood Centre Addiction Services, always fostering strong connections with those around her.

Her love for family was boundless, and as the years went on, the family grew. She welcomed her children's partners—Leona, Autumn, and countless beloved pets—along with cherished grandchildren, James and Adamina. She found joy in gathering with loved ones, whether at a bustling holiday table or in quiet moments with her three children.

Isobel was an adventurer at heart, traveling the world and embracing new experiences. Even in her later years, she continued to explore, taking trips with friends and expanding her horizons. She loved deeply, lived fully, and will be forever surrounded by the love she so generously gave.
