Irene Mildred Cantwell (Wheeler)

December 26, 1943 - November 1, 2024

It is with great sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of our dearest Mother and Nan, Irene Mildred Cantwell. At age 80, on All Saints Day, November 1, 2024, Irene passed peacefully in her sleep.

Irene was born on December 26, 1943, in Egremont Township. She moved to Toronto at age 10, a city she adored. In 1996, she moved to her cottage in Brock, where she thrived as the cherished matriarch of her family. Irene was predeceased by her husband, Jim, and her siblings, Mable, Margorie, Olive, Frank, Jim, Edward, Munroe, and Bessie. She leaves behind her beloved daughters, Janine (Rob), Karie (Joe), and Tara (Dave), and her treasured grandchildren, Brayden, Tayler, Cassandra, Jaime, Sydney, and Anthony, along with many loving nieces and nephews.

Known for her sophisticated style and quick wit, Irene was a social butterfly, avid reader, and lover of the arts. Her final days were spent enjoying dinners, shopping, and time with her friends. She will be remembered for her warmth, love, and daring personality, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew her.
