Thomas Charles Carley
June 9, 1960 - October 30, 2024
With heavy hearts, we announce the unexpected passing of Thomas Charles Carley on October 30, 2024. Known fondly as Tom, he was a beloved husband, father, and friend, cherished by his wife MarLinda Topping, their daughter McKala, and his children from a previous marriage, Kyle and Sara, and their mother, Debe. Tom was predeceased by his father, Thomas Charles Sr., and is survived by his mother, Marguerite, his sister Debbie Drak, her family, and his nephews.
Tom treasured time spent with his children, especially during the holidays when he could share his love for family traditions and hearty meals. A dedicated technician and shop foreman at Nurse Chevrolet, his expertise earned him admiration from colleagues and the community alike. Tom’s friendships, warmth, and generous spirit left an impact on everyone who knew him.
Known among close friends as "Mojito Tom," he embraced life with a lightheartedness and joy. He enjoyed snowmobiling, working on projects around the house, and vacations with loved ones. An animal lover, Tom cared for three golden retrievers and was particularly fond of his cat, Gary, whom he adopted despite a professed allergy to cats.
Tom’s passing leaves us with deep sorrow, yet we remember the joy he brought to our lives. In honor of his wishes, a Celebration of Life will be held in lieu of a traditional funeral. Details will be shared at a later date. For now, his family and friends are taking time to grieve and reflect on his remarkable life.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Tom’s memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada would be appreciated. Memories of Tom may be shared at lowandlow.ca. We invite you to raise a glass and toast to Tom’s memory – "Tom, you will be missed."
